Have You Stopped by Our French Library?

library

Did you know? The Alliance Française de St. Louis has one of the best collections of French literature and language materials in the St. Louis area! Our library is home to thousands of items including French books, magazines, DVDs, and CDs (for both language-learning and music). Whether you’re in the mood for novels, short stories, graphic novels or non-fiction, there is something for everyone.

Open to the Public

Come on by! The Alliance Française library is open to anyone to come and use our materials on-site during our office hours. Members of the Alliance also have the ability to check out any books or other items.

How to Check Something Out

Checking out a book or other item is included with your membership, and it’s super easy! To check out a book, simply remove the card from the pocket, fill out your name, date of checkout and your phone number. Then place the card in the little box on the table in the library. To check out a DVD, fill out the card as above and go to the reception desk to exchange the card for the disc.

To return an item, simply place it in the returns bin in the library - we’ll take care of the rest! We ask that you please return things in a timely manner so that others can enjoy them.

How Our Books are Organized

Our library is constantly growing, and so we have it spread out into a few different rooms at the Alliance. You will find all fiction books and DVDs in the room designated as the library. Children’s books are located in the Grande Salle, and non-fiction books can be found in Classroom 2. Lastly, cookbooks and other books about food and wine are located in the foyer, as are the CDs. If you need help finding something, do not hesitate to ask the front desk! We would be more than happy to assist.
