The little Alliance that could…
By the world’s standards, the Alliance Française de St. Louis is certainly a small Alliance. Compared to other U.S. Alliances, it ranks 15th. But when it comes to fundraising, the AFSTL certainly COULD!!!
With a $100,000 goal for our Capital Campaign last September, a lot of us thought it was a pipedream. However, in one year, not only did we reach our goal, we exceeded it by 25%!!! I guess we COULD!!!
So much so that, Lucy Morros, AF President, was invited twice to Paris and I to New Orleans, to speak to other Alliances about fundraising. Our multipurpose room, office and reception, library, and four of our six classrooms were generously sponsored by Henry Biggs, French Honorary Consul, and Jonathan Carey-Voris, Alan Easton, David Eidelman, Nan and Bill Haynes, Nancy and Ted Koplar, Gloria Montano, and Paul Schroeder, (Board) members.
I hope you have enjoyed your new building as much as I have. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to ALL who gave. Small, medium or large, EVERY gift made a difference! Thanks to you, we COULD!!!
So…COULD we build a new kitchen in 2018? With your help, I have no doubt that we WILL!!!
Please give generously to our kitchen remodeling campaign. Besides much needed storage and convenience when the AF hosts programs, events, summer camp, and regular classes, we would love to have a space that would allow the AF to offer wine tastings, pairings, and cooking demonstrations.
CAN WE? YOU TELL ME!!! (It will be our only fundraiser for 2017.)
