The Alliance Française de St. Louis is home to one of the largest and most comprehensive French libraries in the greater St. Louis area. With a wide variety of French books, DVDs, CDs, and magazines, our bibliothèque is a gateway to the rich and diverse world of French language and culture. Whether you're a seasoned francophile or just starting your French journey, our library is a valuable resource you will definitely want to check out.

Our library is open to everyone, and you do not have to be a member of the Alliance Française to browse our library. Borrowing privileges are reserved for members, and if you would to join our organization, we offer a variety of affordable annual memberships.

Library Hours

Monday through Thursday: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Saturday: 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM
Closed Friday and Sunday

Loan Guidelines

Members are welcome to borrow from the library free of charge. We just ask that you please adhere to the following loan guidelines:

  • Books - Borrow up to 2 books for 2 weeks. Renew them twice for a combined total of 6 weeks.

  • DVDs - Borrow up to two DVDs for 10 days. Renew them once for a combined total of 20 days.

  • CDs - Borrow up to 2 CDs for 8 days. Renew them once for a combined total of 16 days.
