Join us for an enlightening evening of dialogue and discovery at the third annual Nuit des idées, hosted by Webster University, the Centre Francophone, and the Alliance Française de St. Louis.

This year's theme, "Outside the Lines - Bridging Divides," invites you to explore and discuss the myriad divides that shape our experiences in St. Louis today – from economic disparities to linguistic barriers, and from socio-political rifts to cultural, gender, and racial divides.

About the Event

La nuit des Idées is an annual gathering that fosters open and insightful discussions on pressing global issues. It is simultaneously organized in different cities across the United States and the world, in every country with a French diplomatic presence. This year, we're focusing on the local context of St. Louis, aiming to shed light on the challenges and opportunities that lie in bridging various divides within our community.

The evening will kick off with a lively presentation in English, featuring insights from distinguished speakers across academia, activism, and the arts. Together, we will delve into topics such as economic inequality, linguistic diversity, socio-political tensions, cultural expressions, gender equity, and racial justice in St. Louis.

Following the presentation, we invite you to engage with our speakers during a dynamic Q&A session, where you'll have the opportunity to share your thoughts, ask questions, and contribute to the conversation.

Open bar and hors-d’oeuvres are in the program! Refreshments open at 4:00 PM, program commences at 5:00 PM.
