It is often said that the French find the American accent to be ‘charmant’. However, when your accent starts to interfere with effective communication, it can easily go from ‘charmant’ to ‘choquant’! During our eight weeks together, we will explore a broad range of topics, including production, intonation, rhythm, and accentuation. Students will simultaneously improve their speaking abilities while discovering why the French language sounds the way it does!
This phonetics class is suitable for intermediate learners of French (levels B1 to B2). The class will meet for eight weeks beginning October 28, 2025. It will meet every Tuesday from 9:30am to 11:30am with Martin. This class will take place strictly remotely on Zoom. Tuition is $280, which comes out to $17.50 per hour of instruction.

If you are not sure what your level in French is, we recommend that you take our placement test before enrolling. This will ensure that you are placed in an appropriate class for your level.
If you are new to the Alliance Française de St. Louis, or your annual membership has lapsed, you will need to purchase a membership to enroll.
